Eve Radio ask / beg eve players on a regular basis for real life cash donations to keep the station broadcasting with the suggestion that if they don't it will no longer continue to broadcast.
Outwith any form of formal audit to disclose the actual cost they incur on a monthly basis to cover operational costs, I would present the how long is a piece of string arguement.
Given this I specifically ask CCP to clarify there stance on the fact that Eve Radio use Eve and its in game media as a platform to ask for real money donations with no guarantees as to whether that request is ever valid or what the donations will actually ever be spent on.
If Eve Radio are misleading the Eve community and scamming real life money then you have a scenario where CCP are permitting it absent any form of formal regulation.
Subsequently I make this thread asking CCP to clarify.
Eve Radio claim they need x amount of cash donations per month to stay on air and ask eve players to donate real life cash
What if they are asking for more real life cash donations than they need?
No offence to any over zelous isd but the questions i have presented are not speculation and do merit answers.
Eve Radio are not CCP but they do use this game to ask for real cash.

The actual amount they need a month is irrelevant, it wouldn't be a surprise if they said they needed more then the operating costs, in order to put some aside incase a few months of donations don't keep up with operating costs. Or if you know they want to buy some cheetos for themselves for running the service.
They aren't a charity what they do with donations isn't really relevant. So long as they continue to provide a service, and one which is primarily self and donated funded they are under no obligation to release audits. if the rl cash you donate under false pretence goes towards augmenting the real life wallet of a player then that is what you call a real life scam not an in game eve scam Black Man with Goggles |

Lacking that, this thread is nothing more than rumour mongering and slander. if it was rumour and slander then i assume eve radio could easily provide evidence of why they ask for the cash amount they do on a monthly basis? Not a hard nut to crack, the thread was made in the context of asking CCP a question.
That question pertains to eve radio using eve to beg / ask for real life cash.
Outwith audit how do you know the real life isk eve radio beg for doesn't pay Mr Blades council tax, just saying Black Man with Goggles |

Hey if i am sabre rattling then Eve Radio could easily validate a break down of their monthly costs right?
Outwith me establishing my legal high ground this thread still remains me asking for CCP clarification on the question i asked. Black Man with Goggles |

And you did all that by email? If not, why not. If so, you have no reason to bring it to the forums other than to try and rattle cages or in an attempt to force CCP to give you an answer. You're not very smart are you Are you one of the people who donates real money each month to eve radio not aware it's part of a wider radio network and doesn't need that cash?

I have made no allegations, only asked CCP for clarifiaction.
That was the basis for this thread and i still await answer.
Any suggestive remarks that i have made in this thread that that eve radio was scamming the eve community out of rl cash.....
.... if i am so wrong them i assume eve radio can counter these allegations.
Outwith that, they are innocent until proven quitly.
If no proof comes forward then

I have asked CCP for clarification and make no allegations.
I await reply with baited breath.
In the interim I'd make the assumption outwith evidence however that donating to eve radio is akin to paying a players council tax irl and i would advise you men on the internet against such folly Black Man with Goggles |

Chribba wrote:Why would asking for donations be misleading? Sure maybe they don't need full amount of what they ask for, but it's still up to you to donate what you feel it's worth to keep them going.
I think the case may be different if they force you to do something. As far as I know the donation is purely volunteerly and it helps them out running it. You could always do some own research to see what it may cost and compare that to get an idea if it's a legit number or not.
As far as EVE Radio goes I don't really see how CCP has anything to do with them since they are providing an external radio service that really doesn't sell any in-game EVE related things.
/c If you only need -ú400 per month in donations to sustain yet ask for -ú500 under the premise that the radio station will go off the air otherwise....... Black Man with Goggles |

/c Simple arguement - Eve Radio can easily provide audit to augment / justify the monthly donations they ask for if that's what they need to stay on air.
Outwith the ability of them to do that i can't lose this arguement Black Man with Goggles |
